Welcome to our Library
Welcome Chris Hadfield HAWKS!
I look forward to working in the library with you this year at Chris Hadfield. If you are looking for a book, trying to access an online resource, or wondering about an overdue book, please do not hesitate to contact me.
As we move through the year, I will suggest a few special books that might be relevant for you or that mark special dates and celebrations.
Personally, I love language and worked as a Editor before becoming a Library Tech. I like to read both non-fiction and fiction. I also love everyone (picture) books. This past summer, I read some manga to try something new!
Happy Reading!

Chris Hadfield's Favourite Blue Spruce Book:
Chris Hadfield students spent the last two months enjoying the Blue Spruce nominated books. They explored the books by their covers. They laughed at the funny books, and discussed important issues such as inclusion, community, and acceptance. Last week, they voted for their favourite book, and the winner is, How to Party Like a Snail!
The Ontario Library Association will tally votes from all across Ontario and announce their winner in mid-May.
Forest of Reading
Chris Hadfield has received many of the books nominated for this year's Forest of Reading awards. We can't wait to see what our students think of these books! To see the list of this year's nominations, go to: https://forestofreading.com/nominated-lists/
Our Chris Hadfield Hawks will have a chance to vote for their favourites and choose the winners!
Forest of Reading: Blue Spruce
The Kindest Red written by S.K. Ali and illustrated Hatem Aly:
What if you asked the children in your life, what kind of world do you want to live in? This story does that, and it truly is a beautiful world of kindness.
Garden of Lost Socks written by Esi Edugyan and illustrated by Amélie Dubois:
This is a lovely story of two children searching their neighbourhood for a lost sock.
